Illinois Christian Home Educators State Convention

The ICHE Annual State Convention is a wonderful experience. Come listen to great speakers offering sound instruction, participate in corporate worship, fellowship with other home school families, and visit the exhibit hall, giving you the opportunity to physically review curricula and other schooling resources.

CONVENTION INFORMATION

HOME EDUCATION VS CLASSROOMIllinois Christian Home Educators State Convention

When it comes to the training of the next generation, ICHE stands unapologetically and uncompromisingly on the principle of parent-led, Christ-exalting home discipleship. Simply put, it is the biblically normative model for the raising of our children. Though there are some committed Christians in the public school system—and ICHE is grateful for these modern day missionaries—the institution itself is totally secular in content and intent. Even those who are not believers see this and are pulling their children out on moral ground alone. It is naïve to think we can send our children to a place where unbiblical ideologies are promoted and the person of Christ is rejected and hope these same children will turn out like Christ. While the occasional exception to the rule is often trumpeted, in fact, it is a statistical anomaly because the Bible emphatically states, ‘A student, when fully trained, will be like his teacher.‘ (Luke 6:40) We cannot embrace the doctrines of the Bible and turn a deaf ear to its practices. Some may lament that our children will not have the wonderful public school experience—as if bullying, negative peer pressure, and ungodly socializing are all that great—but the one thing we parents don’t want them to miss out on is … eternity.
