Home Education / Blended Programs
In Alberta, all children 6 years old or older must attend school until they turn 16. A publicly elected school board has the responsibility to serve all students whose parents reside within the board’s boundaries, including those students whose parents choose home education.

Most recent version of the Alberta Home Education Regulations as of Jan 15, 2013. On August 1, 2006, a new Home Education Regulation came into effect, furthering government’s commitment to home education.
Achievement Test Administration-Policy
A student enrolled in a home education program shall complete the provincial achievement tests or an alternative form of assessment approved by the superintendent, in accordance with the Home Education Regulation, Alberta Regulation 126/99.
