Timpanogos Cave National Monument
High in the Wasatch Mountains, 40 miles south of SLC. The cave system consists of three spectacularly decorated caverns. From May to early September, the monument offers a Children’s program every Saturday at 10:00 a.m. at the visitor center. Junior Ranger Program.
Hovenweep National Monument
Six prehistoric, Puebloan-era villages spread over a twenty-mile expanse of mesa tops and canyons along the Utah-Colorado border. Located along the border between southeast Utah and southwest Colorado, just north and west of Cortez, Colorado.
Dinosaur National Monument
The cliff face inside the Dinosaur Quarry Visitor Center has some 1,600 dinosaur bones embedded in the side of a mountain. Miles from anywhere at the northern corners where Utah and Colorado meet. Call first. (435) 781-7700. Take a virtual tour if this is just too far to go.
Teachers and students can enhance their Zoo visit with one of our core-based lesson plans or a self-guided tour, while teens and adults can become a part of the Zoo and help further our mission of Conservation Education by joining one of our volunteer programs.
