Agatha Christie, Mystery Writer
When Agatha was a child, she had no companions to speak of. Her sister and brother, Madge and Monty, were more than a decade older. She had no schoolmates, either, because, for the most part, she didn’t go to school. (She taught herself, out of books.) Read Agatha Christie’s books. Agatha Christie was born in 1890 and created the detective Hercule Poirot in her debut novel, The Mysterious Affair at Styles (1920). She achieved wide popularity with The Murder of Roger Ackroyd (1926) and produced a total of eighty novels and short-story collections over six decades.
Christopher Paolini
Christopher began writing the first volume of the Inheritance trilogy when he completed a home school high school curriculum at the age of 15. The trilogy consists of Eragon and Eldest, and Brisingr.
