Homeschool Days at the Jewish Museum of Maryland

The JMM is the perfect place for Homeschool Families. Homeschool Days are special days designed for homeschoolers of all ages to participate in our thematic, hands-on experiences centered around the Museum’s exhibits. Students are encouraged to work together, ask questions, and think critically.

Monday, April 20th, 2020

10:00am to 12:00pm

Grade Level: 4th to 12th

Cost: $2 per student, $3 per adult chaperone

(group leaders/educators are complimentary)

Scrap Yard: Innovators of Recycling

Did you know that everything you touch becomes part of the Scrap Cycle?

Through hands-on activities, students experience the sights and sounds of one of America’s largest industries, its innovative technology, and stories of the immigrant families that built it. Scrap Yard: Innovators of Recycling integrates STEM and humanities through the topics of immigration, technology, and environmental sustainability.

Scheduled Programs:

10:00am – 11:00am    Educator-led program for Scrap Yard: Innovators of Recycling (suitable for grades 4 and up)

11:00am – 12:00pm    Educator-led program for Scrap Yard: Innovators of Recycling (suitable for grades 4 and up)

Hands-on activity stations will be available between 10am and 12pm and are suitable for all ages.

 

Registration is required. Contact the School Program Coordinator at [email protected] or 443-873-5167 to register. Registration includes access to the rest of the Museum for the day of the program.

 

Homeschool groups with 15 or more students are encouraged to book a visit to the Museum separate from our Homeschool Days.
