MacScouter’s Songs for Scouts and Scouters
The Campfire Songs I have tried to include here are ones that are not that easy to find. You may not find some very familiar songs here. Turns out that lots of songs we sing around the campfire are copyrighted and cannot be reproduced on a Web Site.

Free Music Downloads

Free Kids Music
A kid-friendly gathering place for the discovery of new music exclusively in the Kids Music genre. Chuck Brown has assembled a group of independent kids music artists who are making MP3s of some of their songs available for preview, download, playing on your computer, your MP3 player or burning to a personal CD for portable listening. It’s all completely free and totally legal.

Guide to Making MP3 Files
With the right software and hardware, it’s easy to use MP3s to turn your computer into a virtual jukebox, create audio files that are nearly indistinguishable from the original source, make compilation discs from your CD collection, and share music with your friends. The problem is that there are so many choices to make and settings to tweak that its easy to get overwhelmed by all the options.

It’s reading and math. Forget all the rest.
You don’t need to know what is not on the test.

Sing-along Songs BEST COLLECTION
The National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences feels that children learn to read better while reading lyrics and singing along to music. I quite agree! Have fun with these!

Young Voices for the Planet We Sing Out!
We Sing Out! features the Rivertown Kids singing with folk legend Pete Seeger. These youth pay a poignant tribute to Pete who, sadly, passed on before the film was completed. But he left a legacy; the Rivertown kids have a deep environmental ethic and ‘speak out musically’ about a renewable energy powered future. Seeger, an iconic musician and a truly good, decent, honest and principled human being, changed the world in so many ways from marching with Martin Luther King for civil rights to the clean up of the Hudson River, to his commitment to acting as a mentor to the younger generation.

The quality of these music sites is high. Usually their albums are for sale on the site. A to Z, however, is not affiliated with these folks. Your guide just likes the songs, and thinks you will, too.

The Chuckleberries
