Homeschooling is a grand adventure for both parents and children. One of the first steps when deciding to homeschool is to reach out to local homeschoolers for support, comradery, and interactions. Below we have different Maryland co-ops and Maryland homeschool groups to help get you started on your homeschooling journey.

Navigate the page by clicking the sections below to go to statewide, regional, and local groups by county.  To have your group listed please add the information in the comments below or contact me here.

Maryland Statewide Homeschool Groups

Statewide homeschool groups can help you find different resources that are available throughout the state. These groups can help locate local homeschool groups, co-op homeschool groups, and virtual homeschool groups in Maryland.

Many Paths of Natural Learning Umbrella & Support Group

“We are approved to oversee home instruction in the State of Maryland.  We at Many Paths believe that families and students learn best when self motivated. We strive to help you accomplish this goal.  Many Paths holds the belief that learning is a life long process and homeschooling is a family adventure. “

Maryland Homeschoolers

“You’re welcome to join this group if you homeschool school-aged children/ teens in (or just outside of) Maryland, are thinking about homeschooling in Maryland, or offer homeschool classes and opportunities that are PHYSICALLY in or just outside of Maryland, or offer virtual classes IF you live in or just outside of Maryland (post those ads no more than twice a month.)”

Maryland Homeschool Association

“MDHSA seeks to understand the unique needs of Maryland homeschool families. From Western Maryland to the Eastern Shore, we welcome all families from varied and diverse backgrounds. We may differ in educational philosophies, skin color, religious choice, or countless other ways – but we share one powerful commonality: Our love for our children and our desire to protect homeschooling rights.”

Maryland Unschoolers

“This is a supportive environment for any UNSCHOOLING family in the state of Maryland (or moving here). As unschoolers, we’ve experienced the frustration of not being understood and heard, so we are going to try to keep this group as comfortable as possible for our members by asking that the group be limited to UNSCHOOLERS in the state of Maryland or families seriously contemplating unschooling here in the next year or so. “
